ILLINOIS STATE REQUIREMENTS
Illinois Professional Engineer State Board Requirements:
| Course Approval | The State Board does not pre-approve courses or course providers. Each engineer must determine whether an activity meets the State Board’s requirements. |
| Hours Required | 30 Units |
| Renewal Period | Biennially by November 30 of odd-numbered years for Professional Engineers. Biennially by November 30 of even-numbered years for Structural Engineers. |
| PDH Carryover | A maximum of 15 qualifying PDHs gained within six months from the current renewal deadline and not used for the current renewal period may be carried over to the subsequent renewal period but shall not include the requirements for State statutes and this Part, professional conduct and/or ethics, or sexual harassment prevention training, which must be satisfied during each pre-renewal period. |
| Online Courses | Accepted, there is no limit on the number of PDHs earned online for Professional/Structural Engineers. |
